Forty of the residents of this small Hudson Valley town welcome group visitors into their homes, barns, forests and fields to teach them about life in their exceptional community. Visitors can engage in a variety of immersive, behind-the-scenes experiences to learn about their members’ unique areas of expertise: animal training, organic farming, auction houses, working with gemstones, auto racing, food preservation, historic restoration, sausage making, animal rescue, homesteading, foraging, hops growing and birding; and more. Or, enjoy a Shaker Museum tour, farm-to-table meal with a Sufi community, or meet members of the Quaker intentional living community.
