Joel Priest teaches math and outdoor education at Darrow school

Joel Priest is a teacher at the Darrow School. He grew up wanting to be a wildlife biologist or an actor, and tried both in college. Joel received his B.A. in Anthropology at Washington University and an M.S. at Aurora University.

While in college, Joel discovered a calling in leading people in wilderness trips that featured backpacking, climbing, and canoeing. He then ran an outdoor education program at a boarding school, which led him to teaching math and science in the classroom.

Joel serves as the Darrow School’s Geometry and Pre-Calculus Teacher, Math Mentor, Diversity Co-Coordinator, Anthropology and Race Teacher, and Outdoor Education Coordinator.
